Kay Square Press,
Inc., Announces Its Latest Publication, Main Liners: Legacy
of Deceit, by Barbara K. Clement
Philadelphia’s Main Line serves as
the setting for Kay Square Press’s latest release, Main
Liners: Legacy of Deceit, by Barbara K. Clement. A November
release is set. Written in short-chapter format, the novel
begins with the death of Emmons Harrison Whitley, the patriarch
of one of the old Main Line families. A robbery of Whitley's
safe shortly after his death sets in motion the unraveling of a
tangle of scandalous secrets. Murder, affairs, and lies threaten
to break apart the family and rattle the entire Main Line, where
aristocracy, money, and privilege are intertwined and venerated.
The Main Line, named for the main line of the Pennsylvania
Railroad, currently SEPTA's R5 line, has a rich history and a
picturesque landscape, attracting Philadelphia's elite. It
provides the perfect setting for Clement's work of fiction.
Barbara K. Clement retired from
Villanova University in 2008 to begin her career writing novels
nestled among the old affluent families of the Main Line. It is
from this inside view that she crafted her mystery novel based
on romantic deception, money, and family connections.
Previously, Ms. Clement was an executive with Leslie Fay Inc., a
multifaceted fashion company; a syndicated columnist for the
Newhouse National News Service and Chicago Sun Times/Daily News
Wire Service; and an intelligence officer for the US government. Ms. Clement recently completed her second mystery,
Main Liner II: The Blue Fahua and is working on the third
novel in the series.
Founded in 2007, Kay Square Press
is dedicated to finding local authors and giving them a voice to
reach a broader audience. Kay Square Press encourages the
submission of manuscripts that complement its mission.
